You don't have to listen to these professional liars who are barely trying. 9 months ago they were saying they were powerless to return a man they illegally sent to an El Salvador gulag because it would violate that country's national sovereignty
Vance pushes back and says this was not illegal, arguing "Maduro has multiple indictments in the United States for narcoterrorism. You don't get to avoid justice for drug trafficking in the United States because you live in a palace in Caracas."

A concept I've been meaning to float to make sense of what's happened to the US Constitution is an idea from the British constitutional tradition: "implied repeal."

It's useful because it helps us to understand that Article I, & much else of the US Constitution, has been implicitly repealed.

Oil, conflict, and climate change – there is a direct connection.
The real kicker here is that if US companies do succeed in ramping up Venezuela’s oil, it’s some of the dirtiest and most carbon intensive in the world. And it’s cheap to produce (PdVSA says $5/barrel, probably closer to $25).

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Elsewhere Trump’s whiny spokesperson Davari, complaining about Redd’s choice to skip, pulled out the “great art transcends politics” line.

By which she means that great art is subservient and inert in the face of politics.

So very gross.
Are we really surprised that they are threatening to sue? That is, after all, Trump’s modus operandi. No performer with any self respect is going to appear here.

We were told that voting for Trump’s appointees would protect CO. But Trump’s administration still turned its back on our state after a disaster. That’s what caution and concession gets us: nothing. CO doesn’t need a senator who hopes for the best. We need one who fights for us.
