So much they can do to help people on Earth, and the Earth as a whole.

But no, they never do.

Jails Indigenous kids.

Outsources childcare to ... well ... we all know the story here.

Tries children as adults in courts of law.

Exposes them to thousands of hours of gambling ads during sporting coverage.

But yeah - 'let them be kids'

Sanctimonious hypocrisy from people who fail our youth.
Ugh. Discordant message on the Sydney Harbour bridge photographed for the NYTimes story on social media ban for under-16s. Not just Lego green & ick flouro yellow but sanctimonious 'Let Them Be Kids' from a country which jails Indigenous kids & hasn't held the childcare industry to account.

It is absolutely wild that the guy who won’t stop yelling about law and order is now personally stepping in to keep January 6 documents hidden from the police officers who were attacked that day. He knows exactly what’s in those files and he is terrified the country will see it.

spot on
We've designed cities to be hostile to children's play; we've closed libraries, public swimming pools; installed street furniture that stops them skateboarding; moves them on if they're 'loitering'. And now we've banned social media so they'll 'get outside and play'.

not just PR, it's material impact to the public's reality. no one can trust web searches anymore. AI resumes are being made for AI job postings. creative jobs are hemorrhaging. students aren't learning to read or think. people don't have water. like, pretending the damage isn't felt is gaslighting

I mean, can you imagine the screaming and wailing if the government decided to enforce a ban on 'traditional media' because there were concerns over its contents?

Because, you know, there's a lot of people with concerns over the traditional media's contents ...
