Duckduckgo has a survey for pro/anti-AI and I cackled so hard at the (current) results

Are you YES AI or NO AI? Vote now.
Big Tech doesn't care if you want AI or not. They should.

"Don't want to count how many people are eating?" - the actual target audience for the technology we were told would cure cancer.

The great thing about economic freedom is that people are given a greater opportunity to afford the choice and everyone else can mind their own business.

Why is he such a weird unlikable dead-behind-the-eyes freak?

So close to getting it, yet still oh so far.

Goes without saying that screw Adobe of course but this is pretty big for people who have been holding out switching to Linux specifically because of this.

The outfit looks really classic and she's got the acting credentials. Literally the only reason people are saying Sydney Sweeney is because of her curves and it's such a 1-dimensional take compared to the other qualities of the character.

Hurr durr sydney sweeney because boobs am I right fellas.

Actual knuckle-dragging tomb raider take sorry.
January 16, 2026 at 2:58 PM
If someone's take is that Sophie Turner doesn't look the part for Tomb Raider because she isn't curvy enough and their reaction is to suggest Sydney Sweeney instead for no other reason than she is, then I'm just going to assume they're a culture warrior and a tourist.

You can tell right-wing grievance culture is running out of things to be mad about when the trump admin is pretending there's a war on milk.

There are so many people that just want to hate the show and content creators who want to hate it. The only pretty negative ones I will actually watch are when Red Letter Media review them because it at least feels like it's coming from an honest place and they do offer the occasional praise.

Yeah I can see the potential for cross-overs. It feels very much like a discovery spinoff.

The whole troubled-character-turns-life-around trope is good for maybe a few episodes, but as a main character? We had that with Discovery. The show is going to flop if it's mostly going to be about him. I found myself more interested in the traditional aspects to the episode than the academy stuff.

I watched a youtube channel that covers trek content which is biased in the other direction which mostly had a positive reception. I just don't think it was all that great or all that awful. I don't feel particularly invested in the main char or his backstory. It's all rather Discovery-esque.

I watched the first episode of starfleet acadamy, and while I certainly didn't think it was great, it wasn't quite as bad as I expected it to be. It was middling. Not sure I'll continue tbh. I tried to see what other reviewers were saying on youtube and it was just wall to wall hate click channels.

Technically she still gets to keep it, but not her dignity.

Incredible headline no notes.
Crypto lobbyist and former senator Kyrsten Sinema has been sued for having affair with her ex-bodyguard. She also allegedly encouraged him to take the psychedelic drug MDMA on a Senate work trip so she could guide him through it.

Appears that one of the reasons for Monster Hunter Wild's dogshit performance are some overly-aggressive checks for purchased DLC content.

The fact players are finding this stuff shows how utterly unoptimised this game is as this should be an easy fix.

Buying all DLC for Monster Hunter Wilds unlocks twice the FPS performance — higher FPS accidentally paywalled by resource-hogging background check for paid content
As gamers started sharpening their pitchforks, Capcom have coincidentally announced a performance optimization patch for all players.
