Alrighty…

Time for a HorrorWatch.

Starting two days early cause Fuck It.

And kicking things off Wiiiiiith:
chrishjellum.bsky.social
IF your open too Docs in your marathon, Jaws@50 should be at least a contender BUUUUT thats just me XD

So fucking good.
chrishjellum.bsky.social
It’s so incredible!!!

If not for that I include Docs about or involving Horror, it’d be my face Horror Film of the year.

IF.

Im a sucker for a Great Horror Doc and this July gave Jaws@50.
chrishjellum.bsky.social
Also you gotta hanx it too Wes Craven:

He has one of the most varied and unique filmographies.

Even taking Nightmare and Scream off the list.

I hope some people pick Swamp Thing.
chrishjellum.bsky.social

Red Eye’s been a longtime holdover for my watch.

This Year for Sure.

But if I forget again…Im glad I caught The People Under the Stairs!
chrishjellum.bsky.social
I hotta go w/ The People Under the Stairs personally, BUT….I havd yet tok have a single film of his I dislike. Im really hoping to catch his earlist ones(Last House, Hills) and Red Eye this month.

But yeah People Under the Stairs is my pick. A much more realistic story and horrors within. Loved it!

What do you think is Wes Craven’s best film that isn’t part of the A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET or SCREAM franchises?

I feel like everyone will have a different answer and that’s really interesting to me.

Shocker is absolutely great. There's a case to be made for Horace Pinker as an underrated horror icon, I believe.

I know I'm gonna get lit up for this, but for me it's Shocker. That movie is so batshit and so extra in all the best and worst ways, but you know what... it wears it's heart on its sleeve and it's not just a good vs evil story, it's a deeply passionate love vs hate story.

And Mitch Pileggi rules.

Shocker is AWESOME!!!

And IMO I think if it got a Remake then that could REALLY be something cool!

Wes Craven was developing one before he passed, a TV series of The People Under the Stairs as well!

WOW.

Yeah Im glad I saved the Rewatch for this month.

Loved it the second go around!

I have no intention of revisiting The Lighthouse or The Northman, hated those for Specific Reasons but…This was a pleasant surprise on Rewatch.

End of Day 14.
Best: Never Sleep Again
Worst: Strange Darling

So im hoping he avtually does domething too be useful in Fire&Ash cause as is I could give less of a shit about Spider.

Kids a good actor and being Wasted in this franchise.

But all the same I LOVE the variety of Ghostfaces in other roles XD

Its hilarious to me that one of em was Nancy Drew :)
chrishjellum.bsky.social
Nah your not!

In all honesty and speaking as a fan of the Avatar films…

The Kids so far are kinda interchangeable.

BUT

I do find this funny:

Champion plays one of the killers in VI, right after playing the Pointless Kid who’s only there to save the villain in Avatar II+
chrishjellum.bsky.social

It’s a Fucking Masterpiece.

And just prepare yourself cause:

The Hallucination is one for the books.

The Deaths are fucking INCREDIBLE…I can’t wait til you watch cause I wonder which will be your favorite!

And

Tony’s last scene is perfection.
chrishjellum.bsky.social
Oh yeah its just like when a special breed of Assholes(not chuds FTR) tried too say that GOTG Vol III wasn’t an MCU movie.

Guardians.

Your ALLOWED too like stuff inspite of it being popular too hate on it because of Stupid People!!!!

FFS X/

That Avatar kid wasn’t Ghostface tho.

It was the Dumbass white kid with dreads.

Solid hook wanting to know what happened earlier especially to Sammi why he looked incredibly scarred and beaten and why he held a broken guitar. Built up is certainly solid and then when hell breaks loose, Coogler just nails everything so hard. This, this is one of the best Horror movies of

Sinners: Once again, another Horror film that exceeded my expectations. I don't know where to start but I can tell you Ryan Coogler understands Horror and then takes things up to 11 for the better. The golden rule being to set up mood effectively and did so in spades as the opening scene is a

With The Substance I didn’t need too like her Obnoxious Character XD

Right now? Eggers’ Nosferatu. I WANT too like it, had a mixed-towards-Negative reaction before so Im hoping that changes here and now, y’know???

HOPING XD
chrishjellum.bsky.social
Won’t eventually like her in something.

I don’t like Tiffany Haddish either, I largely find her over-the-top loud style of Acting and Humor incredibly Obnoxious and she was one of the Best parts of The Haunted Mansion’23, which I loved.

So eventually Maybe Qualley will grow on me but…at least+
chrishjellum.bsky.social
I think its an overabundance of her face being EVERYwhere due too among others Drive-Away Dolls(which I despised), The Substance, her appearance at The Oscars, etc. Grew tired of seeing her everywhere and than Drive-Away Dolls drove Home that I just can’t stand her, PERIOD.

BUT

doesn’t mean I+
chrishjellum.bsky.social
Cause I don’t want too dislike Nosferatu. I like Robert Eggers even if Ive not liked most of his movies. (Unlike Ari Aster who I just cannot stand his films period) So hopefully His Nosferatu is better the second go-around.
chrishjellum.bsky.social
That was a fucking Trip-and-a-Half and I fucking loved it XD

Fucked up, Deliciously Gross and lead by a POWERHOUSE performance from Demi Moore.

That was fucking Spectacular!

I’ll conclude Day 14 with taking Another Look at a film I first saw in March, didn’t like but hope that Changes.

Time For…
chrishjellum.bsky.social
I despise Margaret Qualley and find her to be incredibly Obnoxious and incapable of being anything but fucking Irritating and Empty Headed.

Her being the ‘Other Body’ was my main source of…AHEM Questioning if id enjoy it.

Turns out in The Substance its easy to hate her and love the film.
chrishjellum.bsky.social
Continuing Day 14 w/ one of the 2024 Best Picture Winners as its finally available to stream.

And…honestly unsure how much I’ll enjoy it. Can’t stand the Actress who didn’t get the Oscar Nomination.

@leemoviemeister.bsky.social I apologize in advance if I dare too be controversial XD

Time for
