This is a hugely important point/insight, and needs to be considered alongside the post-1954/1964 explicitly anti–Civil Rights GOP: the older explicitly anti-Liberal wing of the GOP that nurtured its oppositional hatred over the ascendancy of Dem *and GOP* Liberalism 1932-1960.

Reading Frum's piece, I'm most struck by the fact that Republicans have taken their ACA stance on virtually every major issue since. They've abandoned governing and have become a permanent opposition party, even while in power.

I'm sorry but it's just wild we are in the middle of a government shutdown and the House Republicans are REFUSING TO SHOW UP FOR WORK so they can protect billionaire pedophiles and billionaire tax breaks.

In this country, you gotta make the proof first. Then when you get the proof, you get the supplements. Then when you get the supplements, then you get the women.

If you’re like me you see not so much the rage when she yells “get out of my fucking shot”, but the rage when she’s been told she’s wrong.

Watch her try to swallow that without burning herself. She can’t.

Girl, you have a refrigerator in your background and you’re screaming at a staffer to “get out of your fvcking shot” 😬

Watching antisocial driver behavior in the school drop-off line makes it really clear that the pandemic destroyed whatever few shreds remained of the social compact, just pathological selfishness on display every day

was reading a book about Jonestown and it’s amazing how consistent Horny Nerd culture has been over time
Confined to his jungle dystopia, Jones's only line of communication to the outside world was his ham radio. He conversed deep into the night with his lieutenants in San Francisco and Georgetown, issuing directives, keeping tabs on the opposi-tion, ranting about conspiracies, and managing the farm. Carried over public airwaves, these conversations were anything but private.
Dozens of amateur radio operators in the United States eavesdropped on Temple transmissions for various reasons, not the least of which was the fact that most of Jones's top aides were women and most hammies—as they were called — were men. The Temple's female operators had
"real sexy voices," one man later told the F Bl.
