this has felt like an important project to work on as someone who grew up immersed in virtual community-building + recognizing the now-more-than-ever importance of being offline and finding local community. I celebrate the idea of virtual spaces as complements to your daily routine vs. replacements
This type of smart, walkable, mixed-use urbanism is illegal to build in many American cities
(...incidentally, it's very legal in Spirit Crossing)

At a point the thing that helps most is not Endless Information but doing something real. And having something to nourish that will in turn nourish us for having put our attention there does genuinely help. At least it helps me. Find or reconnect with (or just enjoy) what gives you this feeling.

The danger is you become self-satisfied by tossing some money to charity and shrugging your shoulders but if you recognize that you need to do more but can do something good at this second it really does make a difference for this feeling of helplessness to just do something good, even if it’s small
