What the hell just happened with the item on the BBC 6 o’clock News about Farage’s juvenile racism? No apology for the fact that that there was an ‘issue’ and that it was suddenly terminated. Did Farage contact the BBC in a fury?

Please sign this petition for a public inquiry into Russian influence on UK politics.

I don't care if you're left or right, Reform or Corbynite - we can't allow a hostile foreign nation to run riot in our political ecosystem.

#TraceryTuesday The animals in Tom Denny's new Prodigal Son window for Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, have a curious intensity about them, focussing our attention on the dramatic narrative.

Denny's pebbles are a recurring theme, having a jewel-like quality! @churchartnature.bsky.social

The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.

New piece from me.

I've always felt that Johnson and Farage put self-interest over the national interest - hence their dallying with Putin and his oligarchs. But directly colluding with a foreign government to take down the BBC feels like an act of supreme treachery

The near consensus view was that Keir Starmer's conference speech was his best yet. I heard something different. I think it was born of a profound weakness- and in its own way set up his own future failure.

This is a fantastic read by @itsjoelvin.bsky.social that perfectly describes the rigmarole and absurdity of applying for and living up to ILR - and to note, this was well before things like “the hostile environment” and massive Increases in fees that came about in the early 2010s.
