Thinking about this more and I genuinely think they should do it. Pick a specific date, fund 1,000 block parties around the city, advertise it a month in advance, welcome tourists to come and eat and party with us. It would work!!

Corporate sponsors can have their name in 6pt type on some list.
If CEOs want to fund parties, they can give $100k to every restaurant in town to cater something in their immediate neighborhoods

Minneapolis estimates 76,200 residents are now experiencing food insecurity because of the federal immigration operation.

The city also estimates a negative economic impact of at least $203 million.

Trump is claiming to his base that if Democrats win, they will add two new states and expand the Supreme Court to 21 justices. Which means Trump has a better plan for the Democrats than the Democrats do…

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

Found an additional graphic that gets even more of these quotes together.

I've kept "I hate myself, I hate clover, and I hate bees" pinned above my desk since I first started studying evolutionary biology as an undergraduate. So relatable to get extremely frustrated with your study system.

Vote to fund ICE or ICE will kill more people, says cross-wearing psychopath
Katie Britt on DHS officers: "There are significant guardrails that have been put in place already in the bipartisan piece of legislation we negotiated. I think Democrats will vote that down, which means people are gonna continue this enforcement, but they're not gonna have the guardrails."

I'm still SHOCKED by the obscene rise in billionaire election spending since Citizens United in the NYT piece, despite already knowing that election corruption w/ $ was profound. (Recall that BCRA fought dangerous campaign $ in *2002*)

The article data didn't have a graph, so I made one to show it.

Ending this operation is not enough.

We need justice and accountability. That starts with independent investigations into the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, economic restitution for businesses impacted, abolishing ICE, and the impeachment of Kristi Noem.

If anyone has any evidence that folks doing the kind of activism and observing that Pretti and Good were doing when killed were inspired by *elected officials,* I'd love to see it.

Because from my reporting in Minneapolis, exactly zero people cited elected officials as inspiration.
Ron Johnson to Keith Ellison: "Two people are dead because you encouraged them to put themselves into harm's way! And now you are exploiting those two martyrs. You ought to feel damn guilty about it. Yeah, sit there and smirk. Smirk. It's sick! It's despicable. You disgust me."

These dudes think this is so clever.

Beyond the difference in harms that accompanies the age limits for booze and voting, there were 26,000+ arrests of minors for liquor law violations in 2019. It’s a relatively common crime.

There are functionally no arrests each year for in-person voter fraud.
Rep. Brian Steil: "I flew home to my home state of Wisconsin, went to buy a 6 pack a beer, the clerk asked for my ID, confirmed it, and then I was allowed to buy the beer. I just think it's nuts that we protect our beer more than our ballots."

Nick Fuentes: “The number one political enemy in America is women. … They have to be imprisoned.”

So Pete Hegseth gave Kristi Noem a laser she gave to Greg Bovino‘s agency who fired at a kid‘s party balloon in civilian airspace and Sean Duffey had to be the adult in the room who closed airspace for 10 days just to get everyone’s attention & shut target practice down
According to multiple NYT sources, it wasn’t even military personnel at Fort Bliss that fired an anti-drone laser at alleged cartel drones. It was CBP who used the weapon on loan from DoD against a child’s party balloon they mistook for a drone. The Pentagon gave CBP an anti-aircraft weapon.

Every photo from Minneapolis looks like this. Cops decked out with guns and full tac gear facing off against people in bathrobes, parkas, and sweatpants armed only with whistles and cell phones.

Yet every verified MAGA chode on X dutifully calls it a riot or violent insurrection.
