He "could be bigoted" and "wasn't afraid of people who disagreed with him."

Call me crazy, but I don't think the world needs more fearless bigots right now, or ever.

These are fearless bigots. Is the Boston Globe applauding them as well?

We’ve already seen quite a few examples of ICE agents trying to kidnap someone and eventually giving up and running away because a crowd had gathered and shouted them down. That’s EFFECTIVE.
A lot of folks may think that just yelling at ICE agents is ineffective, but consider the cumulative psychological toll of being yelled at EVERY DAY when trying to do shit. Even the biggest asshole in the world who doesn't give a shit about other people will feel the pressure.

"Nearly everyone involved in this effort is a woman: the work of finding missing family members, like many other forms of labor for incarcerated people, is largely carried by women."

I think my favorite thing about "every city reveals its inner character" era of ice protests is that people keep saying portland is weird or cute or nice or silly when one of the most common chants at the ice building is people looking up at feds on the roof and yelling "jump! jump! jump!" in unison
Portland resists with whimsical improv theater, Chicago resists by screaming at weird jagoffs that don’t belong in the neighborhood. Every city brings its own strengths to the fight
The energy we need is this suburban dad standing out in the street -- barefoot with Blackhawks pajama pants on -- screaming at the masked goons to get the fuck out of their neighborhood.

Chicago will still be here when these fuckers are gone.

Good afternoon from the Little Village arch in Chicago, where a demonstration against ICE and Border Patrol activity in the area is underway. A center of Chicago's Latine community, federal immigration agents have targeted Little Village multiple times during Operation Midway Blitz

To the craven "comedians" who are STILL not speaking up: The manager at the Chicago Laugh Factory was arrested by ICE. They filed no charges, he's a US citizen, and his family doesn't know where he is.

They are coming for all of us. Grow a fucking spine and say something while you still can.

Absolute immunity from criminal law is non-existent under American law. Even SCOTUS's decision in Trump v US limits presidential immunity to "official acts." States have prosecuted federal officials for violations of state law for over 200 years. 1/
Stephen Miller on Fox threatens to arrest JB Pritzker for "seditious conspiracy" and says, "to all ICE officers: you have federal immunity in the conduct of your duties. And anybody who lays a hand on you or tries to stop or obstruct you is committing a felony."

Correct. It has a serious effect on morale. The largest wave of attrition of police officers was the result of the George Floyd Uprising, and 75% of NatGuard deployed to LA in June said they would not re-enlist.

Destroy their self-images as tough guys doing the right thing, and remind them daily.

i really resent the continued assertion that there’s so much anger on both sides, as if the causes of the anger are equally legitimate. we’re angry because masked maniacs are violently snatching our family and neighbors off the street, and they’re angry because we’re calling them out for it.

Censorship Alert: I published a book about Ghislaine Maxwell trial, and another on Kevin Spacey's trial- this evening I got an email from Amazon's KDP saying they are inappropriate and there all of my books are being taken down, including on Sudan, SBF, Eric Adams

And all of this is stolen from countless game developers who made buildings, textures, animations, rigs, lighting, shaders, doodads. Many of whom don't have jobs right now either
Oh my god some fucking tech dingdong posted this on Twitter with the caption "AI games are going to be amazing" totally seriously, you have to watch it. You have to. In full screen.

Quote from Timothy Mellon, who donated $130 million to the U.S. military, so you know who we’re dealing with:

“Black people, in spite of heroic efforts by the "Establishment" to right the wrongs of the past, became even more belligerent and unwilling to pitch in to improve their own situations”.

Why did Indiana University attack and cut its own student newspaper?

Well, in a twist of irony any English professor would call clichéd, it turns out IU did it because they were angry about the students' reporting on a FIRE report naming IU as the worst public university for free speech in the US.
Just as a reminder, tear gas has been banned in interstate warfare by the Geneva Convention, but is still allowed for domestic use.
