NEW RESULT: Democrats have flipped a state Senate in Iowa.

This was a seat Trump carried by 11%, but Democratic nominee Catherine Drey has just won it by 10.4%.

This is the second legislative flip by Dems in Iowa this year. It also means the GOP loses its supermajority in Iowa’s senate.

Fairbanks, AK has been in the news for ousting its asshole bigot Republican mayor and outsiders seem to think that Alaska in general and Fairbanks in particular are "deep red." I'd like to push back on that

tl;dr: Fairbanks has a strong liberal/progressive community.

You can say that the Borough has 2 1/2 Senate seats and therefore 5 House seats: 1 1/2 Republican Senators (the half is Senator Cronk, only half of whose district is in FNSB), 1 Democratic Senator, 2 Republican House reps, 2 Democratic Houe reps. This ain't rural Idaho.
