Promote other people's work without expectation of anything in return. Community building is found in sharing things you find interesting, and building connections through mutual enjoyment of things. Transactional marketing gives the ick right quick, and people will remember.

Good morning everyone! DOTS RPG Project is putting together a few fundraising initiatives between now and the end of the year to help fund convention travel for their volunteers so they can keep promoting accessibility in the tabletop space.

There’s going to be a fundraising event in October and a TTRPG and a mtg raffle in November. The October fundraising event will welcome TTRPG and video game (and all other types of) streamers and will likely have a prize to the top fundraiser.

For the November raffles, they are looking for physical TTRPG core rulebooks, dice, dice trays, minis, as well as commander decks, playing mats, deck boxes/storage, card sleeves.

If you’re interested in fundraising or donating a raffle item, please send me a DM / respond here and I can get you more info as soon as I have it!

TIL If Walmart Paid Its Employees a Living Wage, Prices Would Go Up only 1.4%. That means your Xbox one would only be about $5 extra and only about $0.50 to $1.00 extra for your games via ift.tt

Reminder that numbers like these are if a corporation is deciding to pass on all costs of raising their wage to a living wage onto a consumer. The correct amount of what it should "cost" you as a consumer for a corporation to raise their wages is $0.

I'd like to see it phrased as the equivalent of, "If Walmart paid its employees a living wage, the family that owns it would have to take an 2% cut to their yearly profits, meaning they'd make only 294 million a year instead of 300 million a year," just to really drive home how little they would need to pass on the cost of paying their employees a living wage to their consumers.
