You know, for as much as I moan about fandoms glossing over characters' crimes, it doesn't mean I agree with the sentiment that fictional crimes MUST always be treated with the same seriousness as real ones, even if they're within their fictional worlds for verisimilitude.

The way tech companies constantly do stuff that nobody asked for really tells you a lot about their bigger ideology. They tell themselves that you will like it over time. What they mean is you’ll learn to endure it, or you’ll give up. quality of UI is not actually anywhere on their radar
new iOS update is sleek and also defaults in Music to “you must want songs transition as they would on a dance floor.” so many people will wonder why they can’t just listen to an album. Apps > Music > Song Transitions > toggle off.

I think corporate interests understand the reason they're hiring these studios to make these ads, they understand they are not creatives and don't try to encroach onto others' expertise, and just let them fucking cook. Corporate interests couldn't CONCEIVE of giving creatives that kind of autonomy

Good news: after organizing a 16-month rent strike, tenants across 5 buildings in East Harlem have won 6 months' rent credit and repairs from Emerald Equities—and now they're exploring how they might turn the buildings into a community land trust. Kudos to @cvhaction.bsky.social for this win.
