Since July, I've tracked at least 2,300 cases in which federal judges have ruled ICE has illegally detained people without bond or due process.

This is one that stands out:

National media should really be covering the fact thay every major school, museum, and arts institution in the Twin Cities, and hundreds of local businesses are closed tomorrow to protest federal occupation.

Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Trump’s EPA will no longer consider the cost benefits of lives saved and reduces sicknesses when approving industry permits.

In other words, while reviews currently put a dollar figure on health impacts (treating asthma isn’t free), that will no longer be priority.

The Forest Service and Utah last week announced a new deal for shared management of U.S. forests, expanding an earlier wildfire program.

Activists see it as a huge gift to the timber industry, delivered by a former industry lobbyist.

Could this Trump admin deal with Utah be a back door to new national forest logging?
Critics are worried a new deal will pave the door for logging and shortcuts around environmental reviews.

I’ll admit I don’t know enough about NYC zoning (and I think I know next to nothing about the logistics of owning and operating a grocery store), so this is a really fascinating piece diagnosing the cause of the city’s high grocery prices

Also sheesh: get grocery workers some elevators already.

The law in question - SB 1137 - prohibits oil and gas wells within 3,200 feet of schools, homes, parks, hospitals and other sensitive areas.

But the Trump admin, which has sought to increase oil and gas development across the board, claims it is preempted by the US Constitution.

That would be the second largest law firm in the state. And that training was just put together this week.
