This is the sort of statement that was expected from every university president and law firm partner over the last year. That those statements weren’t made played a huge part in where we are now and people will remember.

No one is publicly talking about it because they fear for their jobs but my sense is that big tech is having more incidents at higher sev criteria than before and they are more difficult to solve due to brain drain

The thing I keep coming back to is the question of whether its good to automate away the jobs of junior engineers, which is largely how LLMs are being deployed currently. I'm worried we will retire and bequeath an empire of shit to a generation who had no opportunity to learn.
