The best thing we can do for all the Epstein survivors is to jail these rich sick fuckers, takeover their businesses, take all their wealth and use it to do some good in this world.

The ‘4Rs’ of emergency management are risk reduction, readiness, response and recovery. Govt decisions to make fairy dust the strategy for emissions reduction suggests they’re not bothered with risk reduction; adaptation is all too hard so forget readiness, making response increasingly frequent
NZ has fallen into a 'crisis and response' pattern on climate disaster, experts say. Billions have been spent on storm recovery since 2023, while key climate adaptation funding and planning tools have been cut.

I'm still mad about this - see the full list of cut projects from the money taken from climate polluters, which would help adaptation and mitigation efforts of the recent weather events, including $900M from the Emergency Response Fund - now frittered away.

Excellent piece by Manu Caddie on Newsroom.

Conclusion worth quoting in full

A solid two days of asking Seymour basic questions about his party's clear desire for ordinary people to starve, struggle and die in workplace accidents followed by a third of "where's Seymour? David keeps running away from us" would save both our struggling media outlets and our democracy tbh
it's fucking pathetic too, because they'll all whinge it's 'just the way media is' & Seymour is just 'so good at clicks' which is why they quote his PR verbatim & give him free media

you know what else is good for clicks? verbally flaying one of the most *hated nz MPs of all time* live on camera
