I remember a time (granted, it was 30 years ago) when I lived in Halifax and motorists would slow down/stop if you looked like you MIGHT be thinking about crossing the street. What happened to people to become such horrible motorists?
Been walking downtown for 15 minutes, no ear buds, phone in my backpack and head on a swivel. I have almost been killed twice by drivers not stopping for either the stop sign or me in the crosswalk. But sure, my safety is a shared responsibility.
