I didn't think I could feel any creepier about Chickenteen...

That may be what it feeds on...

It doesn't come out on rainy days, thank God.

The chicken is in Portland -- holding the northern line!

Therapist: The teen-sized stuffed chicken suit at the express tune-up place isn't real and can't hurt you.

CHICKENTEEN:
Teen-sized stuffed chicken suit in grungy yellow outside an express service station. Its face is alight with delight, and its wings are open wide in welcome.

Seeing Kim in Bell Book and Candle as a preteen ENTIRELY shaped my aesthetic.

Why practices to connect us with our own humanity, each other, & perhaps something bigger, really matter now—

And can help keep us more whole, less responding on their terms & more on our own, more making choices as the people we wish to be.

Gorgeous thread on "basic common sense" -- and how we need to grow beyond it to be fully alive and fully human.

I don't WANT to preach this morning -- JD Vance is not a serious person, he lacks the intellectual chops to do this kind of work, so rewarding his thirst with response is undignified -- but the Spirit demands at least a brief bit of sermonizing

As we go marching, marching, in the beauty of the day
A million darkened kitchens, a thousand mill lofts grey
Are touched with all the radiance that a sudden sun discloses
For the people hear us singing: "Bread and roses, bread and roses"

Somebody yelled at me for posting about Ganymede instead of /the state of things/ last night.

I know we’re (almost) all on the same page here, but a Bluesky without cute cats, science facts, and dumb jokes would be bad for everyone.

Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.

Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.

There's lots of wisdom and kindness in this article about grief, loss, attachments & how to cope. It's a Q&A with the therapist who coined the term "ambiguous loss," who sounds like she is an amazing therapist. 🧪 www.scientificamerican.com/article/elec... by @meghanbartels.bsky.social

Dude was the orangest cat that ever oranged. He picked a fight with the living room rug once... and lost.
Orange cat on an overstuffed chair, lying on his back with white feet in the air, looking puzzled as to how this all came about.
