While our country faces a critical nursing shortage, the Trump admin has rolled back programs that make advanced degrees more affordable for nurses. This is not only bad for nurses—it’s dangerous and unhealthy for us all.

While our country faces a critical nursing shortage, the Trump admin has rolled back programs that make advanced degrees more affordable for nurses. This is not only bad for nurses—it’s dangerous and unhealthy for us all.
Proud to join @ny4p.bsky.social to rally for real investments to repair and maintain our park bathrooms and water fountains. New Yorkers have had to deal with closed, dirty, and unsafe park facilities for long enough. Let’s invest in environmental justice and our ability to enjoy our parks.

Our holiday cheer continued with our annual turkey giveaway with NYCHA residents at Gowanus Houses, and our halal chicken giveaway with CHiPS in Kensington! Grateful for the opportunity to come together with neighbors and share warmth, food, and community this Thanksgiving.

When Raju and his co-workers came to our office, they were in crisis after months without pay. We connected them with Workers Justice Project, Brooklyn Legal Services, and the Brooklyn DA, and helped the workers through the difficult wage theft case and unemployment insurance process. (1/7)

I was so proud to celebrate Reel Works' new media learning lab which my office proudly funded with an additional $80K. Reel Works has served our community for 25 years, and supported over 10,000 young filmmakers with free training, and real pathways into media careers.

Wishing a swift recovery to the pedestrian struck at Columbia St & President St. We’re in close contact with the 76th Precinct and @nyc-dot.bsky.social. This demands urgent action––raised crosswalks, curb extensions, and daylighting. We’ll keep pushing until these safety upgrades are delivered.

I joined the Carroll Gardens Association to launch their Raise the Rates pilot in our 39th District, a campaign to set a fair minimum wage for nannies at $30/hour. Right now, no minimum wage exists for this essential workforce. Nannies are organizing, and together we’re fighting for $30.
