I hope so? I remember an SNL (?) interview from Trump 1 where the interviewer was like "did I get him? Is it over? Oh wait nothing matters " and that feels more & more true daily. I checked fox news yesterday (mistake!) and the bulldozing was nowhere to be found. But Clinton / Biden were everywhere

Yes this exactly! Because so much of what's happening is literally killing people - on the near term & in the years/decades to follow. I think it's the symbolism here that's getting to me

Oh that's a good idea! I have some of that thinking putty stuff that I use to try to keep myself focused when listening. Never thought to extend it to speaking, but it makes sense that it would help in that context too

Yeah. One of the common discussion points in my design group is the (growing?) gap between commercial success and BGG acclaim. Unfortunately if there's much by way of data on the first point, we can't find it.

First Wyrmspan expansion is coming out next week! I'm super excited about this expansion - it introduces a bunch of awesome new dragons (including teenaged dragons!) plus introduces a very cool pass-on-draft mechanism.

There are several programs that import excel data into card templates! I like Nandeck, as David mentioned - it's free & works well. Ludolodge on YouTube has some great tutorials. A lot of folks use Component Studio too, which is put out by gamecrafter and has a scription model (maybe $10/month?).

Yeah. Even so though, over 90% of DC votes went to Harris last fall, so I'm a little surprised to see less than that supporting the current takeover. [Though to be clear, it was 83% disapproval, so some may have been neutral.]

I do wonder if that's a big part of it. One of the things I like so much about DC is the fundamental optimism of so many of the people in government. We're all here because we wanted to make the world a better place.

Thank you, Tory! I signed up for the freedc distro list (they're the group whose orientation the other day was full!), and seem like they might be a good target. I've gotten the sense that they do good work, so will be on the lookout for ways to get involved
