Mr Goodman is quite direct here because this article is specifically about submissions to Goodman Games - a massive business

However, I feel like for beginner writers this phrase might be more useful:

Write to excite your friends with new mysteries and adventures, the likes of which they never saw

This reminded me a quote from Joseph Goodman's "Things I Look For In A Submission" (part of "How to write adventure modules that don't suck"):

The job of a published author is to produce material that the typical GM at home could not produce.

Just backed DURF Extended by @emielboven.itch.io. So excited!

Also, the original rules for DURF took me 15 (!) minutes to read. This is probably the fastest I went through a ruleset ever. Very well laid out and clearly explained

One of my favorite illustrations I did for DURF Expanded 😊

Creating TTRPG adventures is such a varied hobby

You get to be a writer, an artist, a layout designer and wear 100+ other hats

And for each of these there is a huge depth to dive in if you want to

So fun!

@tempestrts.bsky.social is such a good game! So happy to see spiritual successor to C&C.

Campaigns are really fun to play and the factions have distinct play styles. I had a blast! The game is clearly a work of passion.

Blast from the past! I decided to play through some Command & Conquer games.

I played a lot of Kane's Wrath when I was a child. I replayed it again now as well as Tiberium Wars and Red Alert 3.

Such great games! The GDI campaign of Tiberium Wars is my favourite so far

I recommend www.skeletoncodemachine.com newsletter from Exeunt Press and "Between Two Cairns" podcast. Both are linking to many, many games and articles on various topics

Absolutely overwhelmed with the number of interesting articles/podcasts/books for TTRPG game designers. Even more so with the amount of games worth checking out

Feels very similar to when I started programming. I want to read and learn everything, yet I realistically cannot

This looks amazing! Which book is that?

My home server has two HDDs connected to it through USB. If I move the cable at the slightest of angles, HDD loses power. USB is so good

The font for headers is amazing. Is that TT Ramillas Black?
