As an historian, author, & game designer, data entry regurgitation, commonly called AI, in particular "generative" AI, is directly oppositional to my best interests & the best interests of my communities, colleagues, & customers. I don't want it in anything, anywhere. I will never use it willingly.

We landed on a wiki, and have been ironing out formatting and organisation, with only a handful of games added so far.

Now we're mostly happy with the setup, we'd like the wider community to get involved. Please, add your game, or any you have a copies of!

For the past week or so, I (and a few other members of @chimerahearts.com) have been working to make a community-editable database for TTRPGs, with a focus on inspirations for games, to allow players to find games that are linked to ones they enjoy.

In short, every shithead you don't ban costs you ten other customers.

"A [potentially regular] customer doesn't say anything but never comes back" doesn't register with you as An Event the way that kicking someone out (temporarily or permanently) does, so it's extremely easy to miss it.

I spent an excessive number of years moderating a gaming forum and I learned a great deal about community spaces and cultivation, whether I wanted to or not. I have critical advice for anyone who runs a game store or gaming convention. Please share this thread with people who run those things.

Genuinely amazed that I've managed the first of these 2 days into the new year.

Suggested a game of i'm sorry did you say street magic to stone friends who've basically only played 5e. They loved it.
My aims for TTRPGs in 2026 are fairly simple:

- Get 1+ multiplayer TTRPG to the table that isn't D&D 5e

- Release the yet-to-be-released episodes of #5mn5e

- Chat with more cool designers about their games

- Publish at least 1 of the games I've been working on for... over a year at this point

Having now had a chance to watch through the full video... wow.

Aaron, this is incredible. For everyone else, if you are interested in TTRPGs and/or their design, watch this video. I'm sure I'll be rewatching this one many times.
My End of Year video is on the "Golden Age of Indie RPGs," from roughly 2010 to 2025. I start with Apocalypse World's release, work through the Google+ Era, and follow design lineages and historical events that have impacted the hobby up through 2025.
