I, an un-gay, approve.
Marco Rubio may be @lyz.bsky.social's Dingus of the Week, but he's been a dingus his entire adult life. His ambition has always trumped his willingness to do his current job. He's a man without conscience who lacks even the charm of his odious boss.

Shitting on other people's taste is what Chicagoans have instead of a personality.

These are reasonable rules. Don't borrow trouble. What's unreasonable is what's implied: "If you're noncompliant, we might kill you, just for a treat."

@nytimes.com stop normalizing fascism
In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

"The fraud scandal in Minnesota should serve as a wake-up call for Democrats that the issue could hurt their prospects for years to come," Ruy Teixeira writes.
Opinion | Minnesota’s Fraud Should Be a Wake-Up Call for Democrats
The specter of welfare fraud haunted Democrats under Reagan. It could do so again.

Rahm Emanuel is fucking deluded if he thinks he can win the nomination in 2028. I can think of few less likable Democrats with a national reputation. He was a wildly unpopular Chicago Mayor.

The last Illinois politician before Obama to have a positive reputation nationally was Abraham Lincoln.
Ohioan here. No one wants to talk about what's happening in Columbus.

completed a remix for @cornwarning.com yesterday and picked up work on the album today. Probably out this summer or fall? Also have another selec EP simmering and an ambient EP that needs more love, but it’ll be a good year.

@nytimes.com stop normalizing fascism. And also fuck you for continuing a campaign to delegitimize Mamdani.

All you've done is hollow out your reputation for good journalism. This bullshit makes the time look like a sock puppet for the oligarchs. Es ist ein Schande.
NYT gonna NYT: "Both Mr. Mamdani and Mr. Maduro identify as socialists, though they have no relationship.” — would be funny if they did this every time you write about two capitalists.

This has one of those early stereo mixes where the drums are in one channel, and vocals and instruments in the other.

This is one album that could benefit from a remaster. It's so midrangey it sounds like a cold stuffed up my ears.

There is a fundamental problem with the Republican rationale for cutting government programs, that comes from focusing on cost and ignoring benefits.

Medicaid and Obamacare subsidies cost money, but a healthier populace is more economically productive. & the money stabilizes hospital income.

I am not sure TV is the best way to learn a language. You start simple and add words and grammar over time through study & repetition. Unless you watch it in sequence you miss out on the incremental addition of words and understanding. Skip a few episodes and you're lost.
I'm surprised that PBS doesn't have a language learning show. They've got several that include bits of Spanish, but they aren't intended to actually teach kids to speak Spanish

Because @forbes.com are chicken shits, this article is a bunch of Clooney quotes that were actually published before Trump reacted to him getting French Citizenship, and nothing he said is a reaction to anything Trump said.

This feels absurdly obvious. Ever been to an orchestra concert?
I’ve learned not to assume that other guitarists already know what has taken me a lifetime of strumming to learn. My first and simplest piece of advice is to always tune your guitar before playing anything, as soon as you pick it up, tune up. It’s like a pre-flight check for an airplane. Tune first.

AI generated. What's the deal with how the albums are displayed? What audiophile would do that? And it appears there's some sort of Turntable/Speaker on the left, next to another turntable.

Someone who turned 18 in 1990 is 53 now.

I'm 68 but I'm getting a bang out of all the rock show goers and ravers I met in the 1990s are getting the sciatica & their doctors are putting them on cholestorol meds.

Also Microsoft: "And we've been investing, almost exclusively, in technology that means no one can afford to buy a new PC now."

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language, and next year’s words await another voice.” - T.S. Eliot “Four Quartets”

Farewell 2025. May the new year bring peace, truth, justice and healing. May we all be blessed, that we may ourselves be blessings. Welcome 2026.
