I love how the women characters in Heated Rivalry are fully fledged, even relatively minor ones like Rose (she's in maybe 5 scenes, but we get to know her so well). It is sad none of the episodes pass the Bechdel test, however. One question, though, is Elena lesbian coded?

Old enough to remember people walking out of "Making Love" when two men kissed and "Melrose Place" cutting away before a gay kiss. To have straight guys not just tolerate Heated Rivalry's intimacy but embrace it (Chris from Empty Netters wanted to add one move to his repertoire!) is mind blowing.
