If there is one Supreme Court case "civic minded" people NEED to understand is Marbury vs. Madison. The case gave the court the ultimate authority to decide whether a codified law is constitutional.

IOW: We could have codified Roe on a Federal level and it would have reached THIS SCOTUS. /1

If you all would have included truthful Black History as part of American History, you wouldn't be so "shocked" by what is happening right now. In fact, what is happening now likely wouldn't be happening because you would have been able to see it coming with knowledge of history.
