The fact that this lie, like all the others, is so ridiculously unbelievable and implausible is the whole point. This administration and its enablers desperately want to hold a monopoly on reality.

I think we are seeing that the government does believe it has the right to murder US citizens as it sees fit.
If they didn’t, it’d be pretty simple to sacrifice this one agent and go back to kidnapping.

The most effective way to resist this modern brand of fascism isn't to completely immerse yourself in its propaganda. You're actually helping their message spread. Go and make art or read a book or spend time with offline people. You can't marinate in the horror and emerge unscathed.

I am not sorry. This is simply true. Academics should be able to write fluently and express themselves clearly and academics should do their own work. It’s literally our job. It’s what we trained until 22nd grade to do. This is a simple observation that should require no explanation or defense.
I’m sorry, but it is disgraceful to be an academic who uses this technology to conduct research. It should be prohibited in all of our scholarly institutions, including universities and journals.

It's almost nice that over the last couple of decades, despite so much change and uncertainty, the sentence "Nick Saban should shut the fuck up" has been reliably true. Its the Polaris around which most takes in college football revolve.

America has always been this racist; never in my lifetime have those elements been this comfortable with openly bigoted rhetoric. While you might see a decrepit husk being coddled by a fawning pack of soulless jackals, too many others will see this and become emboldened to be their worst selves.
