Observers have been working day and night to protect these neighborhoods from ICE, make the streets safe so kids can go to school and people can go to their jobs. Burning down the street undoes all our work. The people setting fires haven’t been putting in long hours watching plates or doors.

I’m so sick of “oh are you SURPRISED??” being the response to this. It matters because there will come a day after this where they’re going to try to claim that they have principals and should be respected and we get to point at all this shit, shake our heads, and say “nuh-uh”.
The principals were always, always pointed at their chosen out-groups and enemies, not to be applied to themselves.

Spooked? Are they fucking horses? Obviously real police training isn't sufficient to stop intentional cold blooded killings, but taken at their word, it is necessary.
Oh my god, the fill-in host is saying the cops backed off before shots were fired and that “something spooked them.” Completely irresponsible (and the video did have audio, which includes the first shot precipitating all of that)

If any Democrat in the Senate votes to fund ICE, they are voting for the summary execution of American citizens. It’s really that simple.
Reminder: DHS legislation that funds ICE at current levels without policy restrictions is in the Senate and needs 60 votes to pass. Deadline is next Friday.

This is apparently on X. I have a few concerns: 1) why is DHS sending photos of (alleged) evidence that should be in a secure chain of custody that is now lying on a car seat??? and 2) being armed does not on its own justify the use of deadly force — there has to be evidence he was trying to use it
