Victory!

We have heating!

We have a new thermostat!

We have a working gas fire!

Everything came in under budget!

We even have #tea!

Have now been waiting for the bloody fixit man since two.

Yes, I've called them.

Yes, I'm chewing holes in the furniture.

No, I'm not good at this.

No, I'm not getting anything useful done.

No cozy, no cutesy, no romantasy.

No thorns, no thrones, no roses, no TikTok.

And absolutely no fucking AI.

Extraordinary polling from @yougov.co.uk today, showing the @greenparty.org.uk in first place across all working age people

🟢Grn - 20.5%
🔴Lab - 20.3%
⚫Ref - 20.1%
🔵Con - 15.5%

baffling why 60% of pensioners are supporting Con/Ref who will slash public spending that mainly goes to pensioners

I replied to this post, and Reuters have apparently hidden it 😆

Which does rather underline the point.

OpenAI desperate, and they're failing.

(Also, if whoever's running that Reuters account is hiding dissonant replies, they're about to have their work cut out for them...!!)

Oh, SO MUCH THIS. Was an early adopter of all of this, and it was magical. The first days of blogging and social media were full of so much hope. Love and information, passion for our hobbies and interests, openly shared, and friends made all over the world.

Let this bollocks fucking die, please.
I was present for the birth of the web, the explosion of personal sites, and the blogging revolution, and you know what we never had to do? Beg people to use our shit.

In other news, we've been a week without heating (thermostat broke), and without the gas fire (ignition also broke).

BUT!! Hallelujah, the fixit man comes this afternoon, so no more huddling round the little electrical plug-in, like homeless people in TV shows huddle round an oil drum fire.

Photo from six (?) years ago, and a smoother and more accomplished professional you could not wish to meet. Absolutely lovely man, no longer boomingly loud, but very gentle and wise. And still quite wicked, I think!
