Took Ellie/Ellie partners out for their first spin tonight. The deck played really well, aside from a hiccup where just as I was about to cast [[pyromancer's gauntlet]] I realized I misread it in playtesting and it didn't work in the deck 🤪

Design also continues to use ward badly in EDH. If a thing is super strong and gonna be a removal magnet . . . that's balanced. The price you pay for running something super strong is it's gonna be targeted. When you slap ward onto it, you're actually creating a problem where none existed.

It's not anyone's fault, but the "precons are a 2" thing from the original bracket explanation was a HUGE mistake. Almost every pre-con commander printed recently is absolute gas, and almost any change you make to those lists make them a strong 3 if they weren't already there out of the box.

I'm mostly just shocked the Heritage Foundation is pushing camps that don't involve getting an identifying number tattooed on your forearm.
