ICE has now spent over half a BILLION dollars just on purchasing warehouses around the country to convert into detention camps.

If these mega-camps are utilized to the full capacity ICE intends, they'll be the largest prisons in the country, with little real oversight. www.ajc.com/politics/202...

One of the main purposes of having a government is to have someone to do the things that society needs done that can't easily be done at a profit, else someone else would already be doing them.

The Free Market already had a shot at keeping e. coli out of the food and the rivers non-flammable, hoss.
One basic problem with libertarianism is they have no functional theory of governing. Their alternative to delegating power to administrators is that governments stop doing the things that people have repeatedly said they want. That is not a philosophy, anymore than sticking your head in the sand is

During WWII, Gen. Patton didn't like the way Stars and Stripes cartoonist Bill Mauldin drew Willie and Joe as scruffy, unkempt characters.

He wanted to ban the cartoon from the newspaper, but Gen. Eisenhower intervened. It's the "soldier's paper," he said. "Leave it be."

One way concentration camps become zones where law doesn't apply is by neglecting policies & standards that would protect health & provide healthcare. You deny laws & norms & dehumanize your victim.

CNBC: You mean like taking off their masks and having a badge that shows who they are?

In college, I marveled at news that a Nat. Guard truck driving through nearby Radford had a .50 cal fall off the truck and disappear.

Years later, ran into a HS friend who attended Radford at a party. He said he spotted the gun fall off the truck, snatched it, threw his coat over it and hauled ass.
Best (worst) I've got is I **almost** dropped an M16A2 into a porta potty.

Yeah.
