Happy memories of playing Dalek Thay in #DoctorWho Army of Ghosts/Doomsday. The Cult of Skaro was the true Doomsday Weapon. ☺️

Yes indeed, it's very much like Lost but on a smaller budget. Having said that, the location work is pretty spectacular. The weirdly off kilter performances and clunky dialogue make it unintentionally funny.

Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue is incredibly silly but wonderfully addictive. The Casualty Jumanji mash up you never imagined you needed.

God I love this man. This. 💯.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Great little film about the BBC's The #Tripods at 40.

@charliefrancis.bsky.social has made a brilliant short film covering the #Tripods TV series, the @tripods40.bsky.social event, and talks with fans about their love of the show, and Chris Jones' wonderful book, 'All For Nothing?'

It's great, isn't it? You can tell it was made at about the same time as The Horror of Fang Rock. The pov vfx shot of the Vodyanoi is almost identical to the Rutan one, just a different color filter. 😊

But perhaps the most Whoy of BBC dramas that we're actual Who spinoffs has to be The Nightmare Man (1981). Feels completely like a 70s Who in every way except Doctor Who himself. Not surprising as it's written by Bob Holmes and directed by Dougie Camfield. Perfect for an Autumn evening.

And if you like this, do seek out the 1977 BBC Dracula. Louis Jordan is great. Lovely gothic atmosphere, well directed by Phillip Saville and produced by another great Who name, Morris Barry.

It's great, Paul! Barry Letts producing and Terrence Dicks on script, it's a great 70s Who companion piece. Peter Duguid's a great director. Rollicking theme tune from Carl Davis too!

A horrifying day for all our Jewish friends and, indeed, for us all. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this awful deed. While we shouldn't jump to any conclusions as to any twisted motive, one thing is clear: the victims are ordinary people, not the Israeli government.

Was a bit of a whopper, weren't it?! :)

A little reminder that there's still time to catch @barnabyedwards.bsky.social amazing exhibition of science fiction movie art at the Exeter Picturehouse. Don't miss it! You can also view and bag some of these beautiful pieces online at barnabyedwards.co.uk/brave-new-wo...

We're 4 episodes in and really enjoying it. It's technically sophisticated stuff for 1965 with some important messages for our time. Great performance from Trevor Bannister.

Object Z is a lot of fun. Not perhaps as well scripted as a Nigel Kneal or Davis/Peddler, but interesting and pretty sophisticated for its time. Well worth adding to the collection!

Fun day out at South Devon Railway. Bits of the 1982 BBC Hound of the Baskervilles (with Tom Baker) were filmed on this heritage line and nearby Dartmoor national park. Fabulous sunny day as you can see!
Station entrance at Buckfastleigh in beautiful sunshine. Loco engine coupled up to carriages at the station platform letting off some steam. A view of the station platform at Buckfastleigh. Station sign on Totnes platform.
