The economics of self-releasing music as physical media, a thread.
My first self-released CD is SEA OTTERS by The Bionics, an album of Not-Quite-Techno made in a very analogue way, and on our Bandcamp page along with 17 back catalogue treats.

Had to bail 45 minutes in to MARTY SUPREME, I was enjoying Chalamet a surprisingly huge amount but the soundtrack? A bunch of 1980s needledrops that sounded like someone in the corner of the cinema playing with their dad's iPod. And I couldn't take any more.

Putting aside this was probably written by someone born this century (I once went on holiday to Spain with 2 x C90's worth of music ). This question is up there with "would you sleep with Robert Redford for a million quid "

Oh yes, and the artist who insisted NFTs were, in fact, punk.
We don’t dance on the grave of NFTs enough. I had a year where I was repeatedly told by bozos I was going to be irrelevant and extinct for not embracing them, I should be allowed a victory lap.

This is a perfect introduction and hook for a Thackeray novice like me. I found myself thinking Nigel Blackwell (of Half Man Half Biscuit) might line up with him and the others. Jokes at first but so much more going on underneath.
A delight to be invited to take part in this salute to a great British (song)writer. As Jake himself would have said, See what you think. www.backlisted.fm

I'm half way through and it's already turning out to be the best show of the year. Fantastic picks by Veryan and Belial Pellagrim(?)

I will always hold a place for Von Daniken, the foreign versions of a film of his "Return To The Stars", narrated by William Shatner, was the first time I was ever asked to compose a soundtrack, 1985.

Erich von Däniken's book might have been a load of nonsense but it did inspire this funky synthy spacey album, found in a bargain bin near you

This is not perfect by any means (the drumming) but it's getting there. Finally I realise what I hate about Eleanor Rigby is the sound of that string quartet, or the arrangement, either way.

I can only agree with what Ralph says here, this is a wonderful listen.
I’ve always loved #MarianneFaithfull but this beautiful doc from @juderogers.bsky.social on #BBCRadio4 stopped me in my tracks when I stumbled upon it driving home tonight. Thoughtful, revealing and deeply moving it’s a really gorgeous listen and well worth seeking out. #ParisWithMarianne

As Nuts In May is on telly tonight, what's everyone having for tea in 1973?

I bet even @southlondongirl.bsky.social can't beat this feast.

This followed me so I gave it a listen. Nothing says "I'm a smug, lazy, pointless waste of kidneys and bandwidth" more than one of the 'Film Experts' saying "I didn't have any headphones, so I had to watch it with the volume right down. On my phone. On the train."

He's not lying, this is terrific!
This is my new album.

It's instrumental, apart from some crowd chanting on Your Gold, Mr Bridger.

The average tune length is two minutes and eight seconds.

There are fourteen tunes.

It sounds like old telly music.

It's ace.

I'd love it if you listened.

I've love it even more if you shared it.

I can never get my head around the "We're as far from x as y was from z" format, which might explain why I'm such a blissfully happy camper.
We’re now as far from the 20th century as 1974 was from the 21st, and that is making me wonder where my life went.
