"Local know-it-all attorney"- Philly Inquirer. "Professional troll"- spouse. Civil rights attorney at the Public Interest Law Center. Sixers sufferer. He/him. Views mine only.
I told my crying son that it’s cool his boy is gone and his overpriced bday present of a jersey is ruined, because we are all in this for the ultimate reward, him included: a little scratch for our friends at Apollo.
I’m genuinely curious of how Morey tries to spin the Sixers’ deadline activity.

While Vic Fangio did seriously entertain retiring as recently as last week, my understanding that is no longer the case and that the #Eagles are confident in his return at this point after much persuasion.

He's expected to be back as defensive coordinator next season.

Judge Biery signed the order with a photo of Liam and two bible verses: The first is "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." The second is simply "Jesus wept."

Astonishing thing for a judge to do.

So, what's next? Dunno, I got a little time to figure it out.

I do have one idea, though: What if I kept doing the same newsletter independently? Who knows, it might even be better.

Beyond fucking unfair for him to be robbed of so much life and us to be robbed of him

and while I’m grateful for so much he gave us, all that particular irreverent genius, above it all we owe him for robbing Bill Cosby of his impunity, just like that.

May angels speed him on.

As @jenniferkates.bsky.social reminds me, it was Dan McQuade who was at Hannibal Burress's October 2014 show at the Troc when he said “You rape women, Bill Cosby,” happened to be recording it, made it go viral, and from then on no one ever could forget or deny who Bill Cosby was.
Hannibal Buress on Bill Cosby: 'You're a Rapist'
Comedian Hannibal Buress called Bill Cosby a rapist in a bit at the Trocadero on Thursday night. Cosby has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women.

Dan McQuade was the lifeblood of Philly writers, a mensch whose gift for writing was only surpassed by his love of his country, Philadelphia. The city will never be the same without him.

Already too many neighbors are being picked up 😩 it might not be breaking news every hour, but it’s quietly terrorizing a lot of people
January 27, 2026 at 12:15 AM
Anyone from Philadelphia actually impacted by these raids (or anyone with a soul) feels this way.
As a Philadelphian, I find the "I hope ICE goes to Philly" and "ICE won't know what hit them in Philly" rhetoric on here to be extremely gross
January 26, 2026 at 11:28 PM
I recognize these are just twitter rumors and I know there is power in humor, but at least for this Philadelphian, I just want you all to STFU.

If they come here our communities will be in terror, just like Chicago, just like MSP.

It’s not funny, it’s a living nightmare.
Minnesota is full of people who don’t really want to confront you, but will if they have to.

Philly whips batteries at Santa Claus because it’s funny. There’s a literal jail in the football stadium. The baseline demeanor is “what the fuck are you looking at.”

ICE deserves everything they get.

ICE just shot another one of my neighbors. They had the person on the ground, being beaten by several agents, and then fired multiple shots. In front of the donut shop where we like to get donuts for our kids.

Shameful and a disgrace. Philadelphia deserves better.
Signs about the history of slavery in the U.S. and the 9 people George Washington enslaved are being removed right now at the President’s House Site in Philadelphia, across from Independence Hall, months after the Trump administration threatend to do so.

How far we have not come in 250 years.

I am one of those Philadelphians. I will do my part to uphold humanity and the rule of law, by my fingernails. Many of us will.

But let’s be real—what I am feeling is terror for my neighbors, and terror for my kids, who might witness a level of cruelty that will haunt them for their lives.
