I adore Terence stamp for so many roles and moments. This is one of the best. 💔
I realize that "KNEEL BEFORE ZOD" has ascended to a sort of super-cultural status, but for my money, this will always be the best Terence Stamp quote of all time

On our SDCC panel, @daphneolive.bsky.social—who went from fandom podcasting to working on TV—talked about the balance the Percy Jackson writers have to strike adapting books that have been so fundamental to younger readers. ✨

Went to #SDCC and I could not have asked for a better start and end. Percy Jackson S2 panel to begin the festivities and IWTV S3 panel on my last night.
I am so so proud of the PJO actors, their poise, and togetherness, and the wonderful people they are.
(The EPs are not too shabby as well 💙)

Does anyone know the story of how they chose to name the company Palantir?
I used to think it was funny and a result of misunderstanding literature. Lately started thinking it is a way scarier reasoning.

The insane, cold, hyper-intelligent villain of every other movie from my childhood didn’t believe the human race should survive in its current form, wanted to free us of the limitations of our bodies, and believed that immortality was possible (and desirable). Why are we messing w/these guys?
The story of our lives is now just the dumbest guy imaginable in conversation with a guy who is somehow even dumber than that
what the fuck

This isn’t the first time I have recommended an episode of NPR’s Throughline podcast and it wont be the last. They are brilliant and always my go to for history told well and thoroughly.

If I read or hear “waving Mexican flags” one more time…

How many parades and protests and cultural events and establishments in the US involve flags from peoples’ families’ countries of origin? That is one of the *beautiful* aspects of our country!

Don't let Trump and Musk's feud obscure their fundamental agreement: Both men and the party they own are committed to taking as much as possible from Americans who need help in order to give to those who have more than they could ever want www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...
Musk and Trump Still Agree on One Thing
Whatever they may be fighting about, they are both committed to showering tax cuts on Americans who already have more than they need.

I love that an awful video clip is inspiring wonderful stories about human interactions on public transportation and in cities.
One time I was on a subway and a woman was crying. And then strangers sat next to her, put their arms around her and talked with her. And then other people told her that it would get better and a teen going to prom or something gave her a flower out of the bouquet he was carrying. It was beautiful.
Duffy: "If you're liberal, they want you to take public transportation ... the problem is that it's dirty. You have criminals. It's homeless shelters. It's insane asylums. It's a work ground for the criminal element of the city to prey upon the good people."
