Erin Brockovich (2000)

Everyday is a Winding Road by Sheryl Crow playing in the end credits ❤️
When I first watched this movie I didn't care for Julia Roberts' performance. But it gets better with each viewing. A perfect role for her.

Inspired: there was enough room on that door for Rose and enough room on her iconic giant purple hat for Jack.

A few months ago, right after Celebrity Traitors finished, there was a magazine headline that still makes me laugh:

“Celia Imrie: from traitor to fashion trailblazer.”

Like it makes it seem like she was disgraced for selling state secrets to the Soviets but is now the new editor-in-chief of Vogue.

it's a frankly deranged level of entitlement, it's Release The Snyder Cut but turbo-charged - a mass delusion that because they weren't happy with a piece of media, that not only are they *entitled* to a better version, but one magically already exists that will support all of their pet theories.

one of the strangest fandom culture moments is going down right now; a section of the Stranger Things fanbase have convinced themselves that the last episode wasn't the *real* finale, & that there are cryptic clues hidden in the background of the series hinting at a secret *real* finale to air today

Sitting down to think about things like “my top 5 movies/novels/albums/whatever” isn’t entirely adolescent as long as you don’t get combative about it. It can actually be a really good exercise for your own edification and provide ready-to-go talking points in social situations.
This place needs some Innocuous Discourse pronto. Quote this with a take that’s not political or aggressive

I never really stopped drawing, but got in a bad habit of not sharing things because I couldn’t stop fiddling with them. I want to break that habit in 2026 and share more openly. This cowboy started as a commission, but became more of a personal way to fall asleep by doing the shading every night 🤠🪽

In my 20s I read a lot of books by young famous authors. My mistake was assuming that path was normal & not a freak occurrence. Most writers need to live, dream & fail for decades before we find our voice. We're not saplings. We're gnarly trees, here to describe how our bark & branches got this way.

Kuro-WHO-Wa?
I watched Kurosawa’s Yojimbo for the first time last night. Kinda felt like a knockoff of Leone’s A Fistful of Dollars if you ask me. Pretty mid.
