Using SIPRIorg MIL expenditures database, I've looked at BE Defence spending. The dataset is in US$2022 & details %GDP for the period 1953-1992. On average, during the Cold War period dataset (1953-1991), Belgium spent 3,18% GDP on Defence. Between 1992-2022, this averaged 1.2%GDP.

The Danish military is not only given numerous new billions to spend, but instructions to be quick and that the head of the military gets to decide what is ordered, without influence from politicians or requiring the usual loooong and slow bureaucratic paths for buying anything.
The organisation of 🇩🇰 Danish Defence is being reversed with full responsibility to the Chief of Defence General Hyldgaard on a number of key areas, which seems to be a clear, but not complete move away from the very dysfunctional 2014 structure.

After traveling 304 km or 21 hours with the anchor bouncing on the bottom of Baltic Sea she severed the comms cable LVRTC SE-LV.
