GALADRIEL: (glowing green) In place of a hard roll, I would have whole wheat—beautiful and terrible to behold!
DELI GUY: #3 on wheat.
G: (coyly) You offer it to me freely.
DG: No, Galadriel. You have to pay. Every day with this

NOT A ASS OUT PASS OUT PHOTO They didn't have to do my guy like that
The masked burglar broke into the closed Virginia liquor store early on Saturday and hit the bottom shelf. The bandit was something of a nocturnal menace: bottles were smashed and alcohol pooled on the floor.

The suspect acted like an animal because, in fact, he's a raccoon.

The amount of reverence I'm seeing from non-theater people for the plays of Tom Stoppard is interesting. It reminds me of the difference between how theater people & laypeople relate to Shakespeare's plays.

Yes, I recline my seat on an airplane, I ride coach and is uncomfortable as hell. Why are y'all so weird about it when it's literally a standard function and has a range of motion of like, two inches?

I gave my mom what I thought was a soup-themed bath bomb some years back, but it was actually soup. She had to call my dad in to get her out of the greasy tub.

After attending a particularly cringe-inducing graveside service, I am now seriously including a production details & schedule packet in my will with a requirement to retain a professional stage manager, as well as a style guide with approved designs and typefaces for memorials/headstones/etc..

/13 Why? For proximity to power. For prestige. For attention.

Some tongues were made to praise God. Some tongues were made to sing. Some were made for poetry, some for prose, some to agitate and some to soothe.

But some tongues were made for the boot.

Today, state and city leaders announced plans for a nuclear plant in my hometown out of nowhere. To say that the locals are surprised and confused is an severe understatement.

Ah yes, political ideology, a famously black and white topic, a switch that is either on or off. If you're not living in a right-wing totalitarian police state, then it's not *really* fascism, Tom says, because words don't matter and everything is made up.
My mistake has been trying to explain what "fascism" is to people who don't care what it is.

So I'm going to try something else. Let's do this as a practical thought exercise.

If America *were* fascist *today* - what would you have to do differently in your daily life? /1

(I left the LDS church a long time ago and there's little overlap in my current values with their doctrine, but I'm from an old Utah Mormon pioneer family, so I sometimes share things because most people's awareness of the Momos is skewed and usually totally out of context. Not an endorsement!)

While we're on the topic of Mormons, it was always funny to tell people outside Utah that I was ordained to the priesthood of Aaron as a deacon at age 12, a teacher at 14, a priest at 16, and ordained an elder in the "high priesthood of the holy order of God" at age 18.

I'll be honest, I wasn't really aware that there were Christian churches that did this for regular worship. Seems pretty un-Christlike! I grew up Mormon and you showed up at their chapel unprompted, they'd fall over with joy. Many negative things about that organization, this is not one of them.
If your church is turning away people who show up to your doors in good faith, you don't have a church. You have a very expensive book club with scarcely any wine.

I have reached the age/point in my career where parents post pictures of their kids who were youth performers in shows I've worked on, and it's, like, a photo of a whole-ass adult.
