Outrage for the day on my timeline is that a history professor on his own time went metal detecting with his niece, found some rare stuff, engaged the landowner, declared the find to the authorities and is getting a bit of money he is going to donate for local archaeological digs.

No one is paying that money for Gordon.

Hope Slot gains trust from that game that he can give starts and minutes to more of his squad, especially in the front 4, and still get results against PL teams. He’s going to have do that in league games as well from time to time to keep the squad fresh.

I think that’s 5 wins in 7 all comps, 6 in 9 since Arsenal.

I haven’t really been tracking who is still in FA Cup, but if we get by Brighton today looks like draw will be pretty wide open, with City, Chelsea, Arsenal and one of Villa/Newcastle the only other good PL teams likely to still be in it.

He heard Konate was resigning at LFC…
Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano has agreed a new contract through to 2030.

The 27-year-old's existing contract was set to expire at the end of the season.

The question is, if Arsenal really are the best team and have the best squad, should Arteta be taking off the handbrake or is he going to continue to wring the life out of every match and continue to hope that opponents don't find a way to score?

Two points dropped. Arsenal are 10 points better off vs equivalent fixtures last season. If results match last season's for the rest of 25/26, final totals:

84 Arsenal (+10)
84 Man City (+13)
68 Villa (+2)
65 Liverpool (-19)
59 Chelsea (-10)
59 Man Utd (+17)
47 Newcastle (-19)
35 Spurs (-3)

Ben Olsen for current generations, but Dave Twardzik for the old timers. Jaime Rishar had short lived modeling career and ended up dating Anthony Kiedis for a few years, but not sure that really resulted in much fame.
Rian Johnson or Sam Darnold. But I did get kicked out of that school and didn't graduate from there

This is absolutely the right take. Framing it all as AI and selling/using it as a replacement for human expertise is my biggest hang up with it. LLMs currently aren't good enough to produce a quality product without humans spending a ton of time checking inputs/output and doubtful it ever will be.
yep. they have uses as a tool for historians, they just have no capability of replacing them

As I said after the game on Sunday, Nico is going to be a problem.
Nico O is really on fire today. Fearless and attacking as the whole City side.

Keep going.

As someone what has said similar to a boss, as good as it may feel in the moment, call them a bald cunt probably isn’t going to get you the outcome you want.

Thomas Frank at Tottenham: another manager who has previously done well with direct football struggling to adjust to the demands of a bigger club. It basically never works, and clubs should probably stop trying it.

Thomas Frank’s dreadful Spurs spell is latest example that managers simply can’t change style
Tottenham's decision to sack Thomas Frank isn't just bad news for Thomas Frank, it's bad news for managers like him too...

It’s seems the narrative has finally figured out that LFC’s spine are all having probably the worst seasons of their career.

I saw this quote on LinkedIn and thought it contextually relevant to the situation LFC and in particular the fan base are in right now. Humans tend to overlook what is working well and focus on things that are going wrong. Awareness of this bias helps bring balance and perspective. #LFC

Thomas Frank is a reminder that not all good managers from mid table clubs can step up to bigger clubs where expectation is to win most games.

The RB issue isn't that Slot won't pick Ramsey, but why there isn't a player in the academy with the potential to step into the into the first team at RB. I guess Nyoni couldn't do a job there. Is there no one else worthy of consideration?

One of my take aways from yesterday is Nico O'Reilly is likely to be a long term problem. He's very good and made things difficult for Grav.
February 9, 2026 at 2:50 PM
Obviously the result has clouded any positives from yesterday, but Konate being very good again bodes well if we want to have any chance at CL. Kerkez also played well. Salah had a decent second half and actually produced a bit of magic. Gakpo did as well as can be expected. We go again.

Do we need to have a conversation about Alisson? Some strange decisions from him today and feels like they are becoming increasingly frequent.

I’ve been kind to Slot, but Jones should’ve been on for one of the wide forwards as soon as we scored.
