As always: Harris ran better in the contested states than the uncontested states, suggesting (although not proving) that exposing voters to the campaign helped her.
Kamala Harris ran a good, very aggressive campaign, but started at a significant deficit, and ran headlong into a ocean of misogyny, which has continued to dog her even more post-election, now that people feel empowered to say what they REALLY think about her

it 👏 wasn't 👏 about 👏 the 👏 money 👏
Jeff Bezos’s wealth has increased an average of $70 million every day of 2026, meaning that he could have offset The Post’s losses with what he’s made since Monday.

Deleting this post.

My point was that it's unusual to see a president use this event to make partisan attacks -- as a Republican denouncing Democrats by name -- not that the event is somehow apolitical. But some people have taken it that way, so ... deleting.

Epstein's world was a whites-only world, and for once the rest of us are glad for the segregation.
You know who’s NOT named in the Epstein files? Barack Obama.

Just amazing how much these “real America” types hate what America is and stands for.
How it started: "America is open to receive not only the Opulent & respected Stranger, but the oppressed & persecuted of all Nations & Religions." [George Washington]

How it's going: "flooding our nation with killers, leeches, and entitlement junkies.... WE DON'T WANT THEM. NOT ONE." [Kristi Noem]

I detasseled corn at 14, my first job.
One thing I've always been a bit grateful for is the fact that I managed to avoid ever having to spend a summer walking beans or detasseling corn. But, then, I did have 3 straight summers of being a car hop at A&W. At least when you walk beans, you're not doing it in brown polyester.
"You get out in the field, and if you’re 14, your boss is 16," Tom Arnold recalled of detasseling corn during summer in Iowa. "It’s hot, it’s sweaty. I remember the crop duster came over and sometimes they just left us in the field. I’m sure it was toxic stuff. But you got paid and that felt good."

This points out something that we've talked about for a few decades by now, the fact that reading and viewing comprehension skills have deteriorated dramatically in the last 40-50 years.
This pro-Trump nostalgia absolutely was confirmed over and over again by the Dems' own internal polling, in a truly horrifying way:

This is the problem.
Yep. Even if Dems get control of even one branch of government, the MAGAts will show up in future elections and we will repeat this self destructive cycle if stupidity again.

Agreed! Amid all the political analyses, debates, etc, I keep going back to the voters who are responsible for the mess we're in. We can only hope to emerge from in the distant future.

America is fucked long-term that so many voters cannot accurately absorb factual information.

All the complaints about her campaign are basically stupid nitpicks and the people convinced they’d have changed EVERYTHING by adjusting the words in her ads or whatever are out of their minds. Trump’s support was built out of years of irresponsible false nostalgia for his hellish first presidency

Republicans are a violent terrorist cult.
Trump once again ties the murderboats to Minnesota.
I swear this clip is not edited. Trump pivots from downplaying the killing of Renee Good and Alex Pretti ("two people out of tens of thousands and you get bad publicity") to in the very next breath claiming "we've been very tough on the waters," leaving Tom Llamas baffled ("the waters?")
