Lawyer. Not your lawyer. Mother. Not your mother.

By day (and frankly nights and weekends), a civil rights lawyer for people who are incarcerated. Other times, just exhausted.

Washington DC based.
Can anyone who can get to the docket tell how these 8 families knew of the subpoena? Or how many other families/patients are not covered by this order?
BREAKING: Another of DOJ's invasive trans care subpoenas quashed as to patient records. This one was challenged by patients of Children's National Hospital.

Here's a story about my point.

Years ago, I was head of the DC Prisoners Project, and we carried a bit of weight in local politics.

There had been a great deal of work to get the Council out of picking city contractors, bc that was often just cronyism.

Personally, I totally support that.
I'm just a middle aged lady leftist, but I'm begging people to understand that politics is coalition work. And that purity tests are the opposite of coalition work.

The nurses were some of the meanest people I have ever met in my life.

I would need a sock full of nickels & someone the size of Gritty behind me to consider asking for ID.

I recommend ICE get their affairs in order.

Trump causes the problem and then demands the Insurrection Act as a solution to the crisis of his own making which then leads to more conflict. I believe psychiatrists refer to this phenomenon "Munchausen by Nazi." www.childrensmn.org/educationmat...
The Sinister Reason Trump Is Itching to Invoke the Insurrection Act
An authoritarian’s dream, the Insurrection Act is ripe for abuse — and Trump’s Cabinet is already setting up his justification to use it.
