Randy Fine's district is just north of where I live. In my experience, the people up there north of Titusville are *hateful* jackasses, so he's representing them pretty well, imo.

Every so often, I see a report on a study that purports to prove that cats do or don't love us back. It always makes me wonder if the study authors have ever gone to a cat shelter and seen the well-fed cats with plenty of free space and toys who will *immediately* mob you if you enter their room.

Timely read on how to do democracy when authoritarian regimes control elections. >>
"Leaders of electoral authoritarian regimes use unfair elections to deceive their citizens, create the illusion of popular support, & legitimize their rule...nefarious tactics include repressing the opposition &... manipulating the law, media, electoral administration, & campaign resources."
How to Compete in Unfair Elections | Journal of Democracy
Opposition movements often boycott rigged polls rather than risk legitimizing an autocrat. It is usually a mistake. Here is the playbook for how one opposition seized the advantage.

Anyone else notice that CBS tried hard to split Democrats with their press release about their interference with Stephen Colbert's interview of James Talarico? I think this was meant to pit fans of Crockett and Talarico against each other and weaken them both.

I, for one, think it's pretty neat that Elon Musk is going to give all of his wealth away to the poor and go fuck off into the Judaean Desert for 40 days (forever).

I just saw someone fluffing Waymo for being "honest," lol.
Waymo reveals shocking way they "assist" autonomous cars: "Public knows almost nothing"
Lawmakers question behind-the-scenes human involvement as autonomous driving technology expands nationwide rapidly.

Guys I found the best Epstein Files email. The one that illuminates an elite class that's cocooned themselves into an unaccountable shell of wealth and privilege, fighting to protect their secrets and offenses.
I could write a novel about this email.

Judging by the inexplicably large accounts that migrated here and post either just the most obvious takes imaginable or straight up steal all their best stuff from smaller accounts, I think I get why a lot of Twitter-famous people will never leave the Nazi app.

This is the interview Donald Trump didn’t want you to see.

His FCC refused to air my interview with Stephen Colbert.

Trump is worried we’re about to flip Texas.

I have woken up to more than a few devastating things in my life, but waking up to this during Black History Month might be top 5 because WHAT??!?!

RIP to an icon. A legend. www.nbcnews.com/news/obituar...
Rev. Jesse Jackson, a civil rights icon, dies at 84
“Our father was a servant leader — not only to our family, but to the oppressed, the voiceless, and the overlooked around the world,” the Jackson family said in a statement Tuesday.

Watched a YouTube video of a sports star talking about being a sports star. One of the topics they covered was taxes. This mf'er claimed that the wealthy pay 50% of their income to the gummit because he didn't understand marginal tax rates and SALT deductions.

Maybe the rich are just stupid, guys.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but threatening to fail your civic duty because people aren't nice enough to you is the attitude of a child or a foreign agent.

When I first started working in homelessness, this picture was printed out and tacked to my message board, left to me by the previous occupant. She later told me she knew I'd need it. She wasn't wrong. It didn't fix things, but it did remind me that I wasn't the only one struggling with the suck.
