We have written the first book on Robert F. Kennedy and the 1968 Nebraska Democratic Primary. This ground breaking work explores a neglected and important chapter in Kennedy's life. You can learn more about the book and read an excerpt at the link:

Fascinating from @donmoyn.bsky.social. I think Democrats should be efficient but not brutal—move fast and reform the Supreme Court, pardon power and voting rights, increase US safety and fairness, shrink the wealth gap, restore the American Dream. ASAP. Procedural obstacles no excuse. Waive 'em.
New, from me: Recently Marc Dunkelman wrote "What the Left Could Learn From Trump’s Brutal Efficiency" in the Times.
I respond here, not to dunk on Dunkelman, but because it represents a mistaken view of governance that progressives are tempted to embrace. 🧵

All 214 Democrats and four Republicans have come together to sign a discharge petition to force a vote to extend the ACA subsidies. This would keep 22 million Americans’ health care premiums from skyrocketing next year.

Speaker Johnson, bring the bill to the floor now.

A quite startling overperformance for Democrats in tonight's special election for a state Senate seat in Kentucky:

Democrat Gary Clemons won 72% to 25%.

He was defending a Dem-held seat where Kamala Harris beat Trump by 5% last year.

Should be most of the vote in now for Kentucky's #SD35 (Harris+5) special election:

Gary Clemons (D)- 72.6%
Calvin Leach (R)- 25.1%
Wendy Higdon (Libertarian)- 2.3%

It's an over 40 point overperformance from 2024 for the Democrats!

That's not to say this might turn some swing voter types off. But most ppl who support him either love that he does this (his real base)....
