This jumping over reparation or even admission of wrongdoing before expecting forgiveness is such a huge problem. And the pressure to give it is huge!
Reconciliation without reparation is one of supremacy's greatest sabotages of the act of repair. Whenever abuse is exposed, it offers free exoneration to the abuser at the expense of the abused, and calls it redemption. It's the traditional and popular response to abuse in our supremacist society.
Leaders of a Minnesota church community didn’t report a parishioner they knew had sexually abused girls for year.

They told his victims that once sins were “washed away in the blood of reconciliation,” they could never speak of them again.

Truly chilling, from @jlussenhop.bsky.social & Andy Mannix

I'm going to be on with @velshi.com at 11 to talk about my article on the small acts of noncompliance that we can take against our dispicable government.

I guess Summer is over.

At a moment when large-scale resistance can feel futile,
there are other ways to oppose, engage, and fight back.

Very interesting article!
“This shit’s going into the White House.”

I spoke to @rollingstone.com about how a group of tech billionaires with an extreme ideology penetrated Trump's White House.

Galling.
They blame pollution but cut the EPA and clean air and water regulations. They blame poor nutrition but cut SNAP and programs to bring local produce to schools. They blame increased screen time while destroying public infrastructure that connects people. All while they take millions off healthcare.
The White House blamed exposure to environmental toxins, poor nutrition and increased screen time for a decline in Americans’ life expectancy Thursday.

Friends - the comment period for this ends in three days. Comment and push back HARD that anyone who wants COVID vaccines should be able to get them!

Also per the quoted post below, it can be done anonymously and you don't need to select a category.

Hear hear!
"I would rather pay MORE money so that people I consider undeserving of this benefit don't get it than just give it to everyone" is a major driver of how we design programs around the country and it is so fucking stupid and unnecessary
Not fraud related but see also school lunch programs…cheaper to just give them to everyone

Thread. They are continually on their bullshit.
There's a new conservative study purporting to prove that abortion medication is dangerous. Let's talk about why it's horseshit.

To start, it's published by a conservative think tank, not peer-reviewed, and contradicts decades of credible research showing mifepristone is safe

Holy shit. Video posted by President Bukele’s team on X shows the moments before his press conference with Trump in which Trump tells him: “We want to do homegrown criminals next. You gotta build about five more places.”

NYC friends: do not rank this corrupt groper in the mayoral election. Not even last. Just don't vote for him at all.
Andrew Cuomo was confronted with the proof that he covered up the number of people who died from COVID-19 due to his executive order.

His response? "Who cares? They died."

Don't rank Andrew Cuomo for mayor. #DREAM

moving forward I would like to see dems gum up the works every way possible. No unanimous consent, full votes on every tiny piece of business. I don't expect everyone to have the stamina to do a Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, but many lengthy floor speeches. Just slow everything down to a crawl.

Are you FUCKING kidding me?? You know some fool thinks they did something smart with this. JFC.

Not to mention leveling tariffs at uninhabited islands and islands with only US and UK bases on them. Keystone Kop ass economic policy.
james surowiecki has discovered where the completely fabricated trump tariff rate has come from for each country

"...for every country, they just took our trade deficit with that country and divided it by the country's exports to us."

What a surprise, shock face, etc.
So *both* "winners" of Elon Musk's random $1 million check were Republican operatives.
Scoop: Ekaterina Diestler, one of the "winners" of Elon Musk's $1 million handout in Wisconsin, works for a company founded and headed by Republican mega donors. Bruce Bell, the founder of Belmark, has donated thousands to Brad Schimel's campaign & other GOP causes. www.theverge.com/politics/640...

New — I wrote about the armed break-in at the US Institute of Peace and the subsequent court hearing that showed Trump and DOGE's threats of violence may be influencing legal decisions.
The Trump administration's 'assault' on Peace
The violent attack on the US Institute of Peace is a heavy-handed metaphor for this administration's goals.
