The ocean freighting industry is woke now (the containers spell Renee, for Renee Good).

Two things I'm looking forward to about being home:
1) Cats
2) Cross-stitch

@clanwilliam.bsky.social Otto would like Vatican Cow to know that he can take European trains, too. Even if the views aren't as pretty as hers.

I hate travelling in the evening. You spend the whole day watching the clock, with the added downside that you've usually been kicked out of your hotel room so can't just vegetate.

I miss my cats. Not long until I see them again!

Hotel has upgraded me to a suite that's so huge, I keep getting lost. I forgot which bathroom I was in, turned the wrong way, and discovered a whole new closet.

A monkey nicked my packed lunch while I was waiting for my train.

I have a pink one of those with a cupcake on the end for the office. It has never once been nicked. Neither have my pink, fluffy screwdrivers. You do what you gotta do.
This is an excellent analogy, because my recollection from grade school is that the pen on the right looks fun and exciting, and then you play with it for a few minutes and realize it's not actually useful for anything and in fact makes some tasks more cumbersome, and never think about it again.
yeah, just out of interest, how many people choose the pen on the right for real work or art? See a lot of them in professional workplaces, do you?

I believe it's now been refurbished but Warrington Museum used to have a corridor which, on one side, was a collection of clearly cursed Victorian toys. On the other side was a set of gibbet irons. The gibbet irons were less unsettling than the toys.
I assert that every museum should have at least one inexplicably sketchy room. It may have just normal museum things in it or have something off like a reconstructed 1880s town¹, but it should just be...strange feeling.
We regret to inform you that this room in Hollytrees Museum is under suspicion. No hard evidence. Just vibes, watchful portraits and the sense a Secret Traitor could be sitting just out of frame.

Would you banish it or keep it in? Visit and decide: buff.ly/uMPUYFn

Ordered a salad for lunch. Waiter is currently in the garden picking it. Certainly can't say the food isn't fresh!

Can't believe I only have two nights left in India. This holiday has flown by.

Well, I think that counts as a successful safari!

Shout out to my paranoid brain for waking me up in time for my safari, even though I forgot to set an alarm.

Italian voice actor Carlo Bononi was the voice of all of the characters on Pingu. A trained clown by trade, he used a theater technique called grammelot, which consists of "speaking" in a mix of babbled gibberish noises. He improvised all the voices live and unscripted.

The people joining the safari from the Oberoi are being sent off with blankets, coolers, binoculars... I thought I was lucky my hotel gave me some cheese butties.

After seeing so many skinny, miserable horses in Agra, it's delightful to be out in the country and see a fat, happy mule with no saddle sores that clearly loves its owner.

Countdown to a certain subset of Americans renaming the NATO alphabet to the Freedom Alphabet. Actually, nah. Those who would don't know what the NATO alphabet is.

There used to be an Indian restaurant in St Andrews. We're going so far back that I can't even remember its name. But it made the most amazing peshwari naan, which has completely ruined me for all other peshwari naan.
Sunday night timeline cleanse

please tell me about your favorite lost restaurant (closed for at least 5 years, like I really want you to go back into the vault), why you loved it and what you ate there

This makes no sense…

An MP can wake up one morning, ditch the party you elected them for, & sign up to a completely different manifesto…

No thanks

If they defect to a different party, we should get a vote

Sign the petition & help make that law.

I almost didn't go to the Taj Mahal. Too many crowds. I've seen the photos - and the photos of the litter-choked river next to it. Nah.

So glad I went. It lives up to all the hype and more.
