In Super Smash Bros., the skeletons visible when characters are hurt by electric attacks are not tied to specific animations, and instead are a form that can be toggled on and off at any time, including in cutscenes. Below are excerpts of the game's intro, with skeletons.

Like the post being responded to, I think it would be really interesting to see what a big studio could do if they were making a game with a focus on player choices and stuff like that actually mattering with simpler graphics and everything so that branching paths arent that big a nightmare.

This is, of course, obvious to a degree, but still, detailed graphics and 3D models and voice actors and all that can lenghten any process significantly to the point where I would be interested in seeing what a big studio could do if they tried to work as if older limitations were still in there.

Yeah, I remember something, I think it was said by the Dwarf Fortress Devs.

If they wanted dogs to run around on the screen after you won in a game, they could get that done in a day if they used DF ASCii graphics.

For a game with ultra realistic graphics, it would be a whole escapade.

I think choice is becoming a victim of technological advances and player expectations. If you choose whether Bob or Jim live in a SNES RPG, you’ve got a different set of pixels and text boxes. Now you‘ve got a new set of voice lines, Hollywood tier animations, etc.

Thinking about it, the original Deus Ex may be the king of choice in a game with a story, because your choices are significant, linked to gameplay and unforced. From the very start, for instance, whether you use or avoid lethal force against the “terrorists” determines something about you.

Sometimes I think about seperating my tf works, from my non-tf works, but even with my stuff that has less of a focus around tf, you are simply going to run into something related to it eventually, because its simply one of my favorite things and so I don't think its worth it.

Like, I can tag some romantic stuff onto a plot, but having the plot be romance? To me that's like, if the entire plot of something was just one big tournament arc and that became a genre with tens of thousands of works in it.

I really do not see the appeal in romance stories. Before anyone suggests anything, I am not even aromantic as far as I am aware.

I just have no clue how it became its own genre. For me romance is a sub-plot at best, not something that the work is focused around.

I see a lot of people saying that a person charged with a crime deserves the chance to prove their innocence.

Please stop doing this because you have it backwards and this is really important.

It is ALWAYS the government's burden to prove a person guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
