Anyone who says “be normal” betrays that they have an implicit value system of who is considered normal and who is not, and when you have that, you will always value some people and traits over another. They will always replicate hierarchies of power in the long run.
California Governor Gavin Newsom said on Thursday that the Democratic Party needed to be “more culturally normal” and “less judgmental.”

I first knew of Gehry when Time magazine had a cover story on the Guggenheim in Bilbao in the 90s and that became a core memory of why I pursued architecture

for this tragedy to have happened there had to have been failure at all levels of decision making and it shows — the authorities, the contractor, the consultant, and the HOA.

there is a massive child and adult trafficking operation happening in front of our very eyes and not enough reporting is seeing it this way.

the leader was close friends with Epstein. don’t pretend this isn’t obvious
ICE and DHS are separating young children from their parents and disappearing them.

6 year old Yuanxin was separated from his father after a routine immigration check in on Nov. 26th.

Yuanxin's father was not told where his son was being sent.

Yuanxin'swhereabouts are still unknown.

It has now been a year since I stopped posting on X. For @spitfirenews.com, I wrote about watching the platform I loved become a conduit for the worst extremism I've ever witnessed. I don't regret leaving. In fact, I wish I'd left even earlier.

One of the things about trust is that it is efficient. It saves you having to invest a lot of time and effort in verification, and if placed in the right places, saves you a lot of pain.

"The diseases will do the education" is what we get when we don't trust.

I am strangely fascinated by the Singaporean predilection to design their perfectly fine HDB apartments into something like a shanty town

#survivor49 is a microcosm of living in a white supremacist society as it shows that diversity and representation is meaningless when everyone, incl nonwhites are so ingrained with “white first” ideals they don’t even realize it.

remarkable that for the 4th week, it just so happened that the person voted out of #Survivor49 was a black person, despite the entire episode showing that the players in control thought the white woman was the bigger threat. incredible coincidence

remarkable ad that gets literally every thing wrong,

“walk the heart of the city” - this ad is for a hotel

“walk” - model is cycling
“heart of the city” - she’s in a forest

it goes back to the AI companies’ criteria for success — a confident AI giving wrong answers is better than a confident AI admitting they don’t have an answer. a false positive is still a positive, and in reporting performance that’s all they care about. the last thing they want is a true negative.

well, I read it, and the salient, non-gross part is Lizza alleging, midsentence and without elaboration, that Nuzzi ran numerous “catch-and-kill operations” on RFK’s behalf, which would give her a role in both his appointment and the untold preventable deaths he has abetted in office. Cool.

I used to call it comically evil but it really feels closer to straight up biblical evil at this point.

The rot is so epic and so layered, and so deeply injected into every aspect of our culture and our economy and our politics.

By a very few ultra-powerful people.
I entered 2025 resolved to look at the regime and explicitly tell myself "that is Babylon" and emotional detach when it came to them and their enablers, especially when it came to tech and retailers.

The Epstein emails really pushes that narrative almost to the point of parody, though
