Summary:
It's hard to remember now, but it started as wind. A cool rush of air, easy enough to miss depending on the terrain, but otherwise a relief in the heat of battle. Short-lived, when soon the breeze was accompanied by the sound of a mirror being shattered. A shock to the system, quickly righted. The months of battle before Gronder live inside Dimitri as broken glass swept into a pile but left on the floor. In bits and pieces, forgotten, until stepped on. Again time stops. Again time reverses.

dropping people right in, is how i guess i'd phrase it? i always used to worry about build-up but it seems like people like it more in my writing when i just go 'you figure out "before", just get in here' for something. this is why my initial post in a one-on-one will always take the longest lol
