The new European Butterfly Red List is published today, with worrying findings. Over 1/4 (28%) of Europe’s 442 species are threatened with extinction or are close to being so. Tens of millions of essentially factory farmed poultry are dumped into the countryside each year. They boost the population of mesopredators like foxes, reducing ground nesting bird populations. They are an obvious avian flue hazard. They eat declining reptiles. Turn out they're also a health hazard

2/2 At each of the 24 pegs, the shotgun cartridges had been collected & I found no evidence of lead-free ammunition being used.
Black Gold were the most popular cartridge - an expensive lead shot cartridge, used for shooting high-flying pheasants.
