I'm so tired I thought this said "National Horse of the Day" and was like wow that's a lot of work for whoever has to pick the horse

I will watch A Few Good Men every time it comes up on TV, it doesn't matter how recently I've seen it
seeing a movie 6 times is not hard mode smh that's basically true of every movie you owned pre 2005.

Supporters of Ireland's planning system say it is wonderfully democratic. But here is a major project supported by repeated democratically-elected governments and put through a rigorous planning process (including plenty of public input) being stopped by 20 people. That's not democracy. It's chaos.

Aside from the obvious cruelty, it's so grim that we've normalised anyone spending 40% of their income on rent

One pair of numbers nicely illustrates where the Irish housing crisis actually originates.
* There were 1000 housing units awaiting planning permission due to judicial review in 2024.
* In 2024 there were more than 80,000 housing units with planning permission on which construction had not started.

I’ve seen a few folks go for the “if you simply must watch that new Harry Potter show just pirate it” and sorry. No. Just no. Just don’t watch it. At all. Ever. Break free of it. It’s time. You’ll be ok. I promise. I know it mattered to you as a kid. Find new things, it’s healthier. Just move on.

How a flawed idea is teaching millions of kids to be poor readers
For decades, schools have taught children the strategies of struggling readers, using a theory about reading that cognitive scientists have repeatedly debunked. And many teachers and parents don't kno...
