We already had a referendum to make it easier to get on the ballot! Lowering the age limit for a candidate from 35 to 21! It was rejected! That was only ten years ago! Are we all going crazy?!

Not just presidential elections - general elections too. 141 other countries allow non-resident citizen voting and it works just fine. Time to extend the same rights to Irish citizens.

The State keeps the level of pay so low by not requiring ANY standards or certification of interpreters (except for ISL).
The Court Service pays €40/hour for interpreting and I cannot stress enough how poor that money is for the level of skill involved and the high stakes. Also the right to interpretation is a basic requirement of the right to a fair trial.
