Ultimately, the Department of Homeland Security is irredeemable. It will need to be completely eliminated, along with CBP and ICE. All aspects and functions of immigration and border security will have to be completely rethought and built from scratch. All current personnel must go.

Musk's tantrum is yet another illustration of why putting critical infrastructure and data in the hands of oligarchs is a bad thing. Trump's tantrum(s) illustrate why we shouldn't elect ignorant, unstable, narcissistic oligarchs -- even without the signs of dementia that Trump displays.

The clearest conclusion I’ve come to doing a DOGE podcast for 4 months is that they’re not just incompetent at cutting waste and fraud, but that was never the real goal. And it’s vital to get folks who share that goal to recognize that.
Seems pretty clear that DOGE wasn’t ever designed to increase efficiency, but to destroy regulators in Musk’s way and gobble up the data of the American public and its government so as to provide Musk market advantage in AI race.
